19th January 2026
In 2025, we welcomed six new members to the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change, taking our total membership to 54 organisations representing health professionals across the UK.
At the start of the year, in January, we received a welcome and motivating message from the office of the Prime Minister that recognised the importance of the work that we do.
The work we delivered over the year included ongoing advocacy around climate and health policies combined with new developments and evidence to make the case. Key highlights included:
- The publication of a policy report and recommendations on Building a Climate Resilient Health System in the UK
- The publication of a How To Guide for organisations to prioritise plant-based and sustainably sourced food
- A comprehensive response and inclusion of carbon emission reductions targets in the ten year health plan for England
- Taking opportunities through consultations and campaigning to advocate for a just transition to green energy for the good of health
- Publication of the 2025 Lancet Countdown UK policy priorities before COP30
- Manifestos for the Scottish and Welsh government elections sent to all party leaders in Scotland and Wales
The detailed report highlights policy wins and progress along the way. Thanks to all of our members and partners for your valuable insights and support that makes our work possible.
