Schwartz Round: Health in the Climate and Ecological Emergency

12.00-13.15 Thursday 12 October 2023

Join us as we explore the potential of Schwartz Rounds as a way of engaging and reflecting with health care staff about their place and emotions in the climate and ecological emergency, in order to help build engagement and capacity for change.

The online Round will be facilitated by:

Laura Golding: clinical psychologist who works for the Point of Care Foundation as Project Lead – Schwartz Rounds in Higher Education.

Annie Mitchell: a community psychologist and part time mentor for the Point of Care Foundation.

What is a Schwartz Round?

Schwartz Rounds provide a structured, facilitated and emotionally contained space for healthcare staff and learners to come together to discuss the emotional aspects of their work and support their capacity to deliver compassionate care.

The Rounds help to normalise the strong emotions that arise from working in healthcare and enable staff and students to have greater insight, compassion for and appreciation of the roles and work of other healthcare staff.

Licensed by the Point of Care Foundation, Schwartz Rounds are running in over 280 sites in the UK and Ireland – in NHS Trusts, ICSs, social care, universities and hospices.
