Prime Minister’s Office thanks UKHACC for dedication and commitment

The Prime Minister’s Office has written to the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change expressing gratitude and praise for our work

The letter from the Prime Minister’s Office came in response to a letter we had sent congratulating him on his election in 2024 and outlining our priorities for the new government.

Signed by the Head of the Direct Communications Unit, Mandy Godridge, it says, “On behalf of the Prime Minister, I would like to unreservedly thank all those at UKHACC for your tremendous dedication and commitment to better our society. You all should be very proud of the incredible impact you have made, and will continue to make, in all our lives.”

It says the important work of the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change in the medical sector should rightly be recognised and praised and provides assurance that as part of the Prime Minister’s Plan for Change, the Government shares our vision and aims.

We are extremely grateful to the Prime Minister’s Office for this recognition and value of our contribution, and the commitment from the government to work with civil society to tackle the UK’s biggest challenges.

The letter highlights the Government’s creation of a Civil Society Covenant as a means to develop partnerships between civil society and government to create an inclusive and fairer society.

UKHACC Chair, Richard Smith has responded to welcome the government’s shared vision and recognition of the role of civil society in advancing the UK.
