2021 Lancet Countdown UK Policy Brief

The 2021 UK policy briefing calls for environmental action to protect maternal and child health

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change produced the 2021 Lancet Countdown Uk policy briefing.

The briefing highlights three areas for urgent government action to protect child, fetal and maternal health:

Stronger air quality targets
Heatwave plans that fully consider and address the needs of pregnant women and children
An end to all government subsidies for fossil fuels
